Maharashtra: Gadchiroli police in Maharashtra on Monday arrested a Naxal Dalam member involved in several murders and an ambush attack on police. Naxal Dalam is one of the outfits working under the umbrella of the Naxal organisations. The arrested naxal was identified as Guddu Ram Kudyami (23), who is a resident of Sagmeta village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. On Monday, Gadchiroli police’s anti-Naxal commando unit C-60 squad received input from Superintendent of Police Gadchiroli Ankit Goyal’s office regarding the movement of Kudyami in the forests of Sheri. Accordingly, a trap was laid and Kudyami was arrested.

Guddu Ram Kudyami joined the Mukkaweli RPC militia platoon in 2017. He underwent 15 days of training in the forests of Gartul under Naxal commanders and was part of their armed militia platoon. Kudyami was involved in the arson where vehicles were burnt on Kishtour Nala at Jimalgatta. He was accused of more than five murders — including that of a constable. He was also involved in the ambush on policemen at Parsegarh in which a policeman had martyred. This is the third arrest made by the Gadchiroli Police in the last fortnight.
