Security personnel recovered a huge quantity of explosives in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Tuesday. Two people were also arrested in connection with this. According to reports, based on intelligence input, troops of Assam Rifles and police had jointly launched a search operation at a house in Balimara village near Naharkatia on Tuesday and seized 1,200 gram of RDX, electrical wires and other materials from there.
Police said security personnel had arrested two people — Pranab Gogoi and Bikash Tanti. “Acting on a tip-off, a team of police and Assam Rifles had jointly launched the operation and seized the explosives from a house in Balimara village. We have arrested the house owner and one more person in connection with this,” police said. Meanwhile, police have also registered a case with Naharkatia police station and launched an investigation.
