Thane (Maharashtra): The family of Ramsharan Gupta, the man who was seen in a video posted by BJP Mumbai spokesperson that went viral, has filed an FIR at Bandra police station. The family demanded a thorough probe be conducted into the matter and has sought to know whose body was cremated if their father was alive. The incident came to light after a video posted by Mumbai BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua went viral in which an ‘apparently conscious’ man was taken for cremation. The veracity of the video has not yet been ascertained. According to Nirmala Gupta, a resident of Ulhasnagar, her father was admitted to a city-based covid dedicated hospital after his RT-PCR test turned positive on June 27 last year. She claimed that the family got a call on June 29 that informed them about his death. The body was not handed over to the family members and was taken directly to the crematorium following the protocols. Nirmala alleged that the family members had doubts over the size of the PPE in which the body was wrapped in. Suresh had uploaded a video on his Twitter account on Tuesday, which purportedly showed a man who was alive being taken to a crematorium. This is beyond shocking. A LIVING man taken to cremation centre by BMC. I think there might be some #MahaVasuliTarget from cremation centres by #MahaVasuliAghadi govt,” Nakhua said in his tweet. Following the tweet, the BMC and the state government drew flak and a complaint was filed at Bhoiwada police station against Nakhua under relevant sections of IPC. Now, the family demands a thorough probe be conducted into the matter.
