Mumbai: Mumbai Police has arrested three people accused for allegedly bludgeoning to death two senior citizens in Fatorda area in South Goa district. The accused had hammered and stabbed the senior citizens to death and escaped to Mumbai. The deceased were identified as Minguel Miranda (65) and his mother in-law Catherin Pinto (86). Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested three accused Ravinkumar Sada (18) Akash Ghosh (20) and Adityakumar Kharwal (18). Miranda family ran a construction business while the accused owed money from Miranda. Sada, a native of Bihar, and Jharkhand residents Kharwal and Ghosh (20) were working with Miranda, who was a contractor, reported.
During the course of investigation, the cops found a heavy hammer lying next to both bodies. The cops also found that three people suspected to be involved were missing after the murder. The police suspected that the accused could flee to Mumbai and therefore Goa Police sought helped of Mumbai Crime Branch. Acting on a tip-off, the accused were arrested by police near Shivaji Park area. The cops learnt that the accused were planning to escape to Jharkhand from Mumbai. The accused confessed to the police that they killed Miranda after they demanded their payment of last three months from him. Miranda and the three accused had a fight while Pinto intervened. In a fit of rage, the accused hit both deceased with a hammer and also stabbed them to death and escaped. The incident took place on Monday and the accused were arrested from Mumbai on Tuesday.The accused are handed over to Fartado Police Station for further investigations.
