Sukma: A group of Naxals set on fire seven vehicles in the insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Sunday. Sukma SP L Dhruv confirmed the incident which was reported from the Errabore area of Sukama a day ahead of the “Bharat Bandh.” As per preliminary information, a group of ultras reached the area and set ablaze vehicles and threw leaflets asking people to make Bharat Bandh successful. The police said that while no driver was harmed in the incident, the security forces rushed to the spot and launched a search operation in the area. Naxals have frequently tried to disrupt development works in the state’s Bastar division, comprising seven districts including Sukma, by launching attacks on security forces and damaging vehicles and machines used in those projects.
